He is one of the strongest litigators in Ukraine in the most complex disputes between investors and in conflicts between investors and the state.
BIOGRAPHY
He was born in 1980 in Khmelnytskyi. He graduated from the Khmelnytsky Institute of Regional Management and Law (now the Leonid Yuzkov Khmelnytsky University of Management and Law).
In 2007, he defended his dissertation on ‘Pledge of Property Rights as a Way to Ensure Fulfilment of Obligations’ at the V.M. Koretsky Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

POLITICAL AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
In 2007, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defence political bloc, but did not make it to the Parliament. For some time, he worked as an assistant to Mykola Katerynchuk, a member of the People's Deputy from the NUNS. During the 2019 election campaign, he actively supported the candidate Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who was eventually elected the sixth President of Ukraine by a majority vote. It is believed that Serhiy Nyzhnyi was one of the candidate's sponsors. He took an active part in the election campaign during the early parliamentary elections in the same year.
Serhiy Nyzhnyy's own civic engagement was manifested in his active work to improve the current legislative framework of Ukraine.
LEGAL PRACTICE
In 2016, he founded the Ukrainian-British law firm Hillmont Partners. As a lawyer, he specialised in the oil and gas and energy sectors, with experience in dispute resolution in other key sectors of the Ukrainian economy, including financial services, consumer goods and retail, real estate and infrastructure, IT and media. He also specialised in complex investment cases and investor-state disputes. He was a regular contributor to the Davos Business Forum and a resident scholar at the Victor Pinchuk Foundation's Yalta Strategy.
